jack handle and nut remover

Does anyone know a good replacement for the tool that cranks down the spare tire. I have a jack but no handle and am trying to find a tool that can fit the square nut that lowers the spare and also removed the wheel nuts? Thanks J

try your local wreckers...might be worth a shot.

my spare is under the floor panel in the back, but once i get my 32's i'll have to find a new home for it. how big is the square nut? is it 1/2 inch? 5/8"? 3/4"?

say it's 3/4"... go buy a socket that is 3/4"drive and say, 1/2" in size, then weld it to a piece of 1/2" rod, put a couple of 90 degree bends in the other end, and you've got your tool.

with a little ingenuity, you could probably rig up an adapter for it that will remove lugs too.

also do yourself a favor and make sure the lowering mechanism works before you need your spare. lube that thing up good! when you get a flat, you'll be glad you did.

...just a thought...
