Default Occasional studder

Hey all,
Hope your all having a good day.

I have an intermittent problem with my jeep, it sometimes will studder (that is rough idle for a moment down to like 200 rpm). This will happen sometimes while waiting at a light.
Also it sometimes happens while doing like 80 on the highway. Where you will have lack of power, then it will go away. I have floored it on occasion at 80 and i hear a knocking sound coming from the engine. Then after a moment or two, full acceleration. And then the problem goes away. I have cleaned the Iac motor in the past which fixed the problem, but now that is clean and this problem is still happening sometimes.
Very annoying. Can anyone help.

Seriouslly, this is Bull ****,
Not one person can help.
Thats laughable.
I joined this forum because i thought there would be other
jeep owners that might have a similar problem.
Thanks for nothing.

Easy Tiger....this is a small community, not everyone may have experienced the same problem or know of a solution, it may take several days for anyone to even look at your post....take a deep breath.

I would guess either your IAC or TPS is on its way out....

What engine do you have in your GC?

The 4.0 inline 6

This problem has lessened since i last posted the message but it still comes up
here and there.
It hasn't stalled at any occassion yet.
Frankly, I have never seen anything so absurdly difficult to diagnose.
Im planning on taking it to a mechanic for a tune up.

Thanks for responding.

I have no problems accellerating at full throttle when the problem isn't bugging the engine.

I have considered the Crankshaft positioning sensor but it runs fine decent most of the time.
Damn odd.

Sorry for being so grumpy in earlier posts. I just drives me crazy.

Lance.

Was going to suggest the CPS, my 4L does it occasionally to, usually when I've been sitting idling for awhile.
May be a wire that is getting worn near the sensor.
