Anti theft system
So heres my problem, my battery died in my 2000 jeep Grand Cherokee so I replaced it but now jeep starts runs for maybe 30 seconds then shuts down. Now I know its to do with the anti theft system but I'm not sure on how to reset it, I was told to use the key with the chip in it and then unlock and relock then unlock the drivers door and that should reset it. But this did not work, then I was told I could reset it by turning the key on then off 5 times with out starting wait for the lights to flash then try starting it and this should work, well nothing there as well.
So I was wondering if there is something I'm missing here, maybe a different way to reset the key or anti theft system anything at this point besides having it towed to the dealers and costing $400 to $500 to fix this problem, any and all responses would be appreciated . Thank you |
Re: Anti theft system
I am guessing here but it won't cost you money yet.. do a code check... then go from there give us the numbers

Re: Anti theft system
Sorry forgot to post, got it going, did a 30 minute battery reset by taking off the negative post for 30 minute then putting it back on and trying the restart again and this did the trick.
