2011 Grand Cherokee Mialage Problem
I picked up a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 6 (trying to do my thing for the planet). The hype and the sticker said I should get 30 MPG HWY and 22 City (Imp gal). Well on the HWY if I keep it under 110KM, a speed so low it can get you killed on the 407, without AC, I can get 23 mpg. In the city, I am taking it very very easy and getting 16 MPG without AC. It is disappointing to say the least. Can anyone explain this major discrepancy? I believe HWY is measured at 55 MPH or 89 KPH but how different could my “easy” city driving be.

Some companies inflate their numbers a bit, jeep being one of them. If you were expecting mileage out of a jeep, with respect, you should return it. lol
I have a 2010 Focus that gets 46mpg average city and highway which makes up for my miserable 12mpg that I've had at BEST in any of my jeeps. |
Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee Mialage Problem
Most vehicles still need a break in period to get close to the mileage that they claim, I would wait till it's time for the first oil change and if it hasn't improved by then I'd be saying something.
30mpg in a Jeep sounds like responsible goverment, not going to happen in my lifetime. |
