Default 2010 jeep rubicon

Hey all,
I'm just curious, would a 4.0l engine from a 93 jgc be better than that of a 2010 rubicon?
I have heard that the older engine is better because of higher low end torque.
If so why would jeep put an inferior engine into the 2010 rubicon which looks pretty nice by the way.
Just curious.

Any info would be appreciated.

The Wrangler is built with crossing fields and streams as the priority, especially when it comes to the Rubicon; that model has special tires, a higher suspension, skid plates, and other modifications designed to make it easier to cross streams, drive over big rocks, and go where no steamroller has gone before. The Rubicon is the ideal choice for those who are truly dedicated to off-roading or who live in inaccessible lands; but the base model is far better for more casual off-roaders, or those who only want a Jeep for the fun factor, and not just because the Rubicon costs about $10,000 more.

The 2010 never had a 4.0L it comes with a 3.8 from the mini van division (Grand Caravan). Even though the motor had more HP and Torque it was in the upper RPM range for better gas mileage so the 4.0L was a better engine in the Jeep as 90% of the torque was available between 1500- 3200 RPM.

Cool,
I had heard some of what you have said before, but I figured it would likely be confirmed here.

Thanks.

LONG LIVE the 4.0 LITRE Straight 6 cylinder engine that was started by AMC, and continued by Chrysler by all .Frankly, I hope this engine type never dies.
Take care

I really like the 4.0L it's a definite workhorse and has a lot of build up potential if you want to stroke it. Easy to work on and very reliable.
