2002 Grand Cherokee
Hello,
I'm a senior, and find I do still a lot of driving after dark.My headlights are now opaque, and my driving illumination is about half of what it was (and that was terrific!) (179,000 km on the Jeep GC). Can the opaque lens be replaced,or would I need the entire headlight assembly? Thanks! Whitehair |
Re: 2002 Grand Cherokee
You'll have to replace the assembly. Before you do that though, you may want to look into a "plastic polish" to return the lens to a newish finish.

Chrysler parts will most likely be way overpriced. E-Bay usually has lots to choose from. |
Re: 2002 Grand Cherokee
if its really bad, my friends durango was opaque and YELLOW... I used 600 grit wet sandpaper, IT WAS THAT BAD!!! then jumped to 1000, then eventually 2000 grit and used a 10,000 grit polish (which the 3M resembles though im not 100%) and fully restored the headlights to new condition...
if you know anybody that does paint jobs, they will definetly have everything you need to clean it up and probably give it to you, or charge you next to nothing... here is a good guide for you http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2485084 |
