Re: steering question

It jumps, could be a number of things, alignment problem, was a lift put on and the stabilizer not changed or is finished and need replacing, up/lower ball joints gone, u-joint. To say it jumps is hard to diagnose like your going down the road and at 60-70k it leaves the ground and jumps to the left or right? It wobbles at 60-70k could be what i wrote above. It wanders at 60-70k and pulls to the left or right, again same reply.

Re: steering question

thanks for the reply. upper and lower ball joints are good. when i say it violently goes right and only right, it turns the steering wheel right so hard i can barely hold on. i've been to busy the last couple of days to look at it, but will give it another complete thorough when i get back.any other suggestions would be great. Next question jeep has never been lifted but im considering a 1.5" lift. any idea how much "true ride hieght" i'm gonna gain. sag?

Re: steering question

if pulls to the right violently ,it could be a sticking brake caliper .....

lift wheel off the ground , press brakes , turn the wheel ...it should be free as soon as you leave brake pressure ,if not caliper could be sticking ....

look at your rotor , does it look blueish ?

drive for a while . check brake rotors temperature ( dont touch ) they should be equal...

otherwhise it could be your steering box ......

verify your steering box holding bolts ..it happened that they turn loose ,or that the frame may be damaged around the bolts ..give a look !

Re: steering question

Ya sounds like the brake would be a very good starting point.
