It looks like a D30 by the exterior but im almost certain its actually an AMC 20

definetely not an AMC model 20, It is either a dana 30 or a dana 44.

AMC `s 20 where rear diffs only .....
this is a regular dana 30 ...it`s been used for many years |

Most dana corp diffs have the series embossed on the housing. If I remember it should be on the webb on the passenger side just behind the axel tube.
