Ive got an 86 CJ 7 4 speed Dana 44 rear.It's got a 10 gallon fuel tank on it.Has anyone ever run across this size fuel tank.I purchased it from the original owner and he says that is how it came from the factory.

 

If its an early CJ5... is it "under the drivers seat" if so then yes
but a CJ7 id have to look into it... im pretty sure they were 15 and 20 gallon options

 

15 and 20..That is my understanding also. But I'll be damned it has a 10 gallon tank.I've never run across that on a CJ before.I purchased it from the original owner and I have no reason to think he was being untruthful. He was honest about everything else and knew I was going to re-do the whole thing anyway.

 

is it a 2.5L? id understand if that had a 10gal, but im pretty sure the 4.2L was 15 or 20...

 

I have an original 86 CJ7 ...first ,the gas tank should be made of plastic type of material ...if it`s metal it aint original... mine is around 16 gallons imperial ..
