Re: CJ5 Steering Upgrade
Looks good. What box did you use? Saw one that had used a GM-Saginaw box that was way more than over kill.

Re: CJ5 Steering Upgrade
the box, and steering column, came out of a 84 chevy camero that my sister-in-law was junking. i filed the alignment groove on the pitman arm so i could put it on where ever i wanted to. still used the original double tie-rod setup that way. handles like a dream. like i said, it was the best thing i ever did to my old jeep.

Re: CJ5 Steering Upgrade
mine was exactly like yours. i used a saws-all to cut the stock column off at the box. im sure others will work. i got lucky with the camero on the length. i also used the steering shaft that bolts to the box, i believe i had to cut it down, then bought a borgenson joint to couple them. best thing i ever did. borgenson joint was the most expensive part, about $65.00.

Re: CJ5 Steering Upgrade
A sagina box from an 70+ passanger car will work . The sportyer the car the faster the ratio .Camaros and Firebirds are a quick ratio well Impalas and olds are slower ie more steering wheel input to turn the wheel. and if you have some lift use a Vega pitman arm. They are dropped a bit DAWG
