I am trying to find out if the Tigertop #51403 top uses the existing windshield channel to mount at the front. The top says it's for the above mentioned models which both had the factory channel spot welded to the W/S.

 

I got a m38 with tiger top.sold it and never had the top on the jeep.however tiger top has a alum channel that was screwed on to the windshield.hope that helps.

 

Darn, that is not what I wanted to hear. Everything I have been told so far says the top I am looking at uses the stock top windshield channel .. The instal instructions don't have those two aluminum channels as parts and they say they are not required for some models. Did you see these parts in the kits (the two channels that have beeh referred to as being screwed into the top of the windshield frame ? I want to use existing is my problem .. Thanks by the way ... Typical problems with 'old' stuff retrofit eh ...
