I own a 1998 jeep Cherokee sport 4x4 4.0. I was wondering where you guys hook up your tow rope If your stuck. It has something under the front bumper but that isn't strong at all. And I don't have a hitch. Any ideas on something I could make to hook up to. Something really strong.

 

get tow hooks for front and the bracket and get trailer hitch. form junk or some where like that

 

Tow hooks in front make sure they are mounted (Bolted on) to your frame and not just to the bumper or you can do as I did b/4 I got my killer bumper was have flat plate (1/4" thick) mounted to the frame from underneath the jeep, so I could hook a tow strap to it. There is also if in emergency you can put a strap around the from axle, but take it easy. Rear a solid trailer hitch or though the opening of the trailer hitch a intern't truck hook works wonders.

 

Definitely get tow hooks for the front and bolt 'em on there tight.You'll be glad you did.
In a pinch you can use your front axle but be very careful,as Mr.White stated.

 

I had a piece of angle iron bolted to my frame where a hitch was supposed to bolt thru. Then I drilled a big hole for a shackle to fit thru. But the bolts snapped when I tried pulling someone out the other day.
