Are TJ axle shafts the same as XJ axle shafts?

Hey guys just need to know if TJ front and rear axle shafts are the same as XJ shafts, from a D30 and D35c. Got a set of front and rear w ABS shafts out of a '95 XJ and would like to use em for spares in my TJ with the same axles. Any info would be appreciated.

I wondered the same thing as I have a set of axles in my shed with 3.73 gears from a wagoneer 89.. looks the same.. problem might be the length..you will have to measure them.. also since there from a spring jeep you may have to mount coil holders unless its a spring jobbie too. Actually removing mounts and rewelding isn't then end of the world if the price is right. :)

I was wondering about the "shafts" not the housing.

if the spline count is the same you can always dissasemble the CV and reassemble them on the shaft with the appropriate length, i had a spare drivers side CV, and a broken passanger side CV, busted out the snap ring plyers and swapped out the shaft itself.

this was a CV from a 04 Grand Cherokee (narrower ABS sensor on the CV) (Dana 30) to a 93 Grand, (Dana 30) but its the splines that count if your willing to disasemble to get the appropriate length!

If their stock shafts it should be the same, if its a Dana 44 swapping to a Dana 30, i believe the OD of the axle itself is thicker. and they are 30 spline, not 27 like all Dana 30's, so it wont work... the length is the big question AFAIK they are the same length thru the Dana 30's ...
