Tire help please.

Well, here I am with another post. My cherokee is still running awesome, and I'm getting it lifted. Only thing I dont know is which type to get? I want ones that are good for offroading and also rock crawling, but that can hold up in snow and rain on the road. I'm not made of money, but any posts help with what you might think are reasonable prices. I'm getting the 4.5 inch lift off zoneoffroad.ca. The company that is lifting it for me is called Westshore spring and 4x4. The guy thinks he can probably get a 33 something? tire in there. I don't know the actual numbers, but it could also be a 31 something? Anyway, any tires that dont go over that 33 please. In case you need to know, it's a 1990 cherokee xj, 4.0L standard transmission. 4 door. Thanks a ton everyone.

Re: Tire help please.

I have been doing a lot of research with having a 3" lift and 31" tires right now and looking to go to 4 1/2" lift and 33" tires soon. If you want to run 33's you will need to cut your fenders to clear em or go for more elevation to clear the rubber. My 31's rub with a 3 inch lift and I plan to cut the fenders and install bushwhacker flares for clearance before I lift.

A tire that is good on rocks and in mud is not usually that good in rain and snow. I would suggest an all terrain if this is a daily driver and check our local tire shops to see what they offer or better yet if $ is an issue watch Craigslist or Kijiji for a deal. My truck came with aggressive mud tires but it's not my daily driver and the larger lug tires are definnatley a little louder on the blacktop. My choice would something by procomp (ATZ)or Mickey Thompson (claw TTC), BFG AT, or maybe a ---- Cepick fun country.

That said tires are like running shoes and everyone has their favorite. More of a daily driver with a little use off road makes sense to get an all terrain that will be quieter and last longer makes sense. Want to slay the rocks or mud go with an aggressive lug tire but put up with louder on the street rotating tires more often and shorter rubber life.

Just my 2 cents.
