tick but no tock

My 88 straight 6 4.0 has a tick that's ticking me off, any ideas what could cause it

I think it's from the valve, I haven't had a lot of time to look around on it, is this a sign of a head gasket going?

So another forums site told me it could be a sticky lifter,could this be? And how hard is it to fix?
