Re: Rough idle
Many things come to mind. When was the last tune up? Oil/filter change? Gas filter might be plugged (its under the vehicle near the tank) Cdn Tire carries it, try putting in some injector cleaner for the next couple of fill ups (might just be dirty injectors) also chk ur vacuum lines (a little crack in one can mean the difference of a smooth ride and not) I had an 89 xj and some little things can cause headaches. Ck the easy stuff first and put that injector stuff in CTC has their own (I use) theres STP and others too. To bad ur so far away or i'd say bring it over.. Good luck and lets know how yur doing..

Re: Rough idle
Alright thanks, I'm new to the jeep world *just crossed over from chevy* and never worked on a inline 6 before, most of the things u listed I have repaired on a 76 v8 but I'm sure they can't be too far off

Re: Rough idle
Ok so my valve has a tick, would a oil change help me at all fix that, I was told it might be a sticky lifter

Try running high octane for a bit... And maybe even an octane boost or gunk remover for a tank or two... Petro Canada has a decent blend for their high octane as well. |
Re: Rough idle
Well mines like a minute of ticking, then fine then odd few ticks then fine and so on and so on
