Questions on '99 Cherokee Ltd I6 4.0 auto
 

:confused:Looking thru the posts and its scary. So far so good on mine. BUT what's up when the airbag light comes on (no bumps necessary) and I lose the readings on my speedometer and tach--until the light goes off? Also live in far north of BC and it can get cold here. Bought block heater thru dealer--its not working now. Bought new magnetic oil pan heater --how to tell if it's working ??? Cherry hates starting in cold which is anything below -10C--but does. I don't know how to help it. When it warms enough to travel 500 mile to town I have to get a regular heater put in. Which kind tho--the block heater or the one that goes into the rad hose?

I just joined the forum to check out posts about the speedo and tach going out on my 1998 sport. Sometimes a tap on the dash "fixes" the problem, but I guess I will have to pull the dash to fix it. I was hoping someone has some first hand experience with this problem to assist with the repair.
Good luck with the cold weather starting. I traveled to your town a couple of years ago, very nice country.

If the airbag light is comming on when the speedo cuts off, it kinda makes sense... doesn't the airbag needs to know the speed at which you are travelling at? I would look into why the speedo cuts off and see if the airbag light comes on after you fix that issue.

start by checking your speed sensor(s)... and you might as well scan for codes...
