check your ground wires

If you have a pigtail for plugging in a trailer, trace back from the end to where it joins the harness. the joins tend to corrode and short.

Re: no tail lamps or dash lights
It's not going to solve you root problem but it might give you a little peace of mind problemwise. My service manual (a '92) shows that the Park/tail lamp fuse (#15/15amp) provides power (via the headlight switch) to the instrument cluster. Blowing this fuse will result in their loss. A confirmation of this would be to check fuse #19/5amp which is downline and protects the cluster, if it's still good then your problem is in the Part/tail lamp circuit. Solve that problem and the other will be repair as well. Allow me time to decipher the hyrogliphics on the park/tail lamp circuit and I may be able to make some suggestions, however as the earlier repliers state it is most likely a ground fault problem and trailer wiring faults are the #1 cause!

Re: no tail lamps or dash lights
So i checked my trailer towing wiring and it wasn't the problem but not sure where to start cause major heading not being able to drive the jeep at night.
