I have a stock Jeep 98 Cherokee Sport 4.0 4x4, I went to the gas station and to my surprise I fit 18.6 gallons of gas in the tank. I thought my gas tank was 16 gal. How much gas have you been able to fit in your gas tank? I am trying to figure out if it is possible to fit that much gas or the station is ripping people off.

 

If I am not mistaken the xj (my old 89) has a 76 litre tank which would give you 18+ gallons Heres a website showing some conversions http://convert.web-max.ca/index.php?select=81&page=2 I would say try not to go that low especially in the winter or you may have problems with condensation.

 

The owners manual for my 2000 says 75 liters, that's 19.8 US gallons. Shadrach
