Starting issue with 88 Cherokee limited
Hey there! New to the site and new to jeeps. I have a 1988 Cherokee limited. Was running fine then all of a sudden after being parked in the driveway for a day or two it wouldn't start up. So I boosted it and let it run long enough for the battery to hold a charge ( or so I thought) but once I shut it off it wouldn't turn over again. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: Starting issue with 88 Cherokee limited
It is very likely that you've:
- Lost a cell in the battery
- Wiring fault preventing alternator from charging
- Alternator is broken
First step I'd do is boost it again and measure the voltage across the battery terminals. You should see approximately 14VDC if the charging system is functioning. If you do, take the battery to a place like NAPA or PartSource and get it load tested.
