88 cherokee
Hi,
Im new to this and just looking at my first jeep. Its a 88 cherokee, But it needs a new crank shaft position sensor. Does anyone know if this is a big job? and how much the parts are? Any help would be appriciated? |
Re: 88 cherokee
Go under the jeep from the drivers side and looking towards the engine you will see the sensor bolted at 11 o'clock on the bellhousing. Using a 1/4 drive rachette extension 8-10 mm metric socket now sure on size. Some say you have to drop the tranny - NO you do not have to drop it also you do not need to reprogram the computor that also has come up in questions. The price for a new one depending on where u buy it you might want to check out national4wd they have a website and call them they have an free toll number, also justjeeps.com in toronto again a free toll number. I figure price between 50 and 100. max.mopar brand.
You might want to invest in a Haynes Jeep Cherokee 1984 thru 1997 automotive repair manuel 50010 they sell at Cdn Tire for about $20. max |
