Question 2000, Stop and go

All kinds of car troubles these days. The Cherokee is down the street in a parking lot. It will fire and run for couple of seconds and die. If I pump the gas pedal it will start to rev then die. I'm thinking fuel filter, where is it.

Daughter just called, CAA scanned it and says it's the ignition switch immobilizer. Jeezus, on a 2000? Ok anybody know where why how?

OK folks, searching the net, this appears to be a common problem.
Here's a fix I found, I took the terminals off the battery, they and the posts were black with accumulated dirt. Cleaned them up nice and shiny and put it all back together. The fix did not suggest cleaning the battery parts, just the 10 minute disconnect.
The truck now starts and runs on either key.
