New From Moncton N.B.

I am new to the site. Looking to find some answers to some questions that have and may continue to arise.. I bought a 09 wrangler x about 5 months ago and lovin it. My only issue is with the soft top. gonna browse the forums for an answer.

whats going on with your soft top?

I had to help my uncle put on his soft top this summer,:banana::banana: it just about drove me crazy... then come to find out he was missing a piece (he bought his Jeep in Yellowknife with the hard top on, and drove it home to Campbellton, and of course the dealer charged a 160 bucks for the piece...)

The rear window on the factory soft top does not zip down all the way, causing rain and snow to leak into the back of my jeep.I went to my local dealer and they said they cant do much for me, so I called chrysler customer service and the answer wasn't really what I wanted to hear.. all the new soft tops are the same at the dealer and at the factory they say as well. I think if jeep owners make enough noise they will have to do something. I'm at a loss on what to do next.

is it getting to a point where its pulling too tight to get the zipper down the rest of the way? or is it like the fabric way to short... you might be able to take it to a seamstress and get her to fix it... just have to give them a measurement on how much wider it may need to be

my grandmother had to do that for my cousin's jeep way back in the day...

another thing when you first install it, you have to leave it on for quite a few hours out in the hot sun, they have to stretch out abit then their nearly perfect to put on and off

Its a defect in engineering i would assume.. the zipper is just not long enough... they dont zip down to the gate on either side. There is like an inch missing on both sides. There is a little flap there which i assume they meant to cover the gap but it just dont cut it.. Chrysler called me back the other day and told me to take it to a convertable top shop.. we will see how that goes.

yeah my uncles JK was just a little bit off... maybe 3/4" easy...

i suppose not everybody braves the winter in their soft top so they might not think its a big deal... i dunno...
