New guy here.
Hey everyone!
New around here (obviously) and decided to make an intro thread rather than lurk. Name's Cory - from Richmond Hill (just north of Toronto.) I'm an ex-mechanic and currently doing my heavy equipment operator apprenticeship, and I loves me some Jeeps. I'm on my second one. First one was a 93 XJ that I bought by fluke for a beater (I was a car guy) and ended up falling in love with. I bought it for 700 bucks, drove it for two years problem free (aside from having to do the front wheel u-joints in it) and it got written off by two ladies playing bumper cars with Honda Civics. I then went on a Jeep hiatus - during which time I drove a Chevy pickup. I liked it until the motor popped, and then I didn't like it very much at all. So I went Jeep hunting ad ended up with a 98 GC Laredo. It's essentially stock (aside from halogen foglight replacements) but I plan on doing some work to it once I get more stable financially. As of right now it's sitting in my driveway awaiting some electrical gremilin chasing. I've been stricken with the dreaded no-start in which the fuel and volt meters on the cluster stay buried at 0, and there is no power to the ignition. I've been told there is a PDF floating around somewhere explaining how to check into the ECM for bad capacitors... but I am awaiting conformation on that. Anyway - hope to learn some new stuff and maybe meet some local Jeep guys to go wheeling with! |
Hey, welcome to the site.
