Heylo from a guy in Asia making a move back to Canada

Hi everyone, I discovered this site when I was looking info about the new Jeeps and also a business I'm exploring for LED lightings (waiting for admin for info for details before I post any more in case of a snafu and get banned!). I've been living in Asia primarily China and Hong Kong for the last 6 years after spending my childhood in Vancouver. Used to own a land rover D1 and a ford explorer and took them on logging and FSRs in Squamish and Whistler (I kept them stock).

My main business is heavy equipment used in mining and quarrying and for the last two years I really focused on the China market and pushing for sales therre. I originally had a Honda odyssey minivan and it started bottoming out when I drive to customer's sites. My dream was to get a Jeep ther in China but the import tax on them makes them just that, a dream, for a business owner trying to justify spending 90,000 CAD on a rubicon. So I endd up getting a cheap made in china suv to bash around for work :frown:

After stabilizing things and hiring people to look after China, I'm making s move back to Canada and thinking of getting a Jeep (probably next year). I have no delusions of grandeur that I will go hardcore offloading with it, just need four wheel drive and inclement weather capabilities (one of my Canadian quarry customer gets by driving a VW Jetta to his work sites). I was thinking of the new Compass that said is now finally trail rated for the new model.

Another thing is that while in China I decide to think of some fabrication ideas since I gave the factory at disposal and came up with some LED lighting systems (and not those ricer under glow things but high output ones) that I originally marketed to my mining customers for night operation but I can see automotive applications (vision x USA comes to mind). Anyway I am bringing some samples back in late September and waiting to see what the moderator says I can and cannot post before I reach out further.

Look forward to joining this community more as I integrate myself back into Canada it's been so long and I sorely missed the scenery that we don't get anywhere else in the world.

Usoff
