Question Wrangler Unlimited - What's Your Fuel Economy?

Still contemplating a 2011 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara - and still watching gas prices climb higher...

So I'm wondering: how many KM are you guys getting from that 85L tank?

I understand results will vary, but I'm curious to see what the "real world" numbers are like.

Thanks guys.

It's a jeep, its got the aerodynamics of a brick, when it needs feeding just feed it and smile. Fuel economy and miserable is for hondas.

Test drove yet again the Jeep Wrangler 4 dr. unlimited.
I so love this vehicle, we checked the gas usage per 100km and it wasn't great!
Basically driving it as easy as possible- city driving, gaged 14.5 km/ 100km at best, more like 15.5++ if driving more aggressively. Highway, probably 12-13km/ 100km.
I think your looking at $120.00 a tank with today's gas prices. If your lucky you will get 500-550km. This vehicle is about the fun, not about fuel savings that is for sure.

The 2012's are apparently going to be a bit better, at best 10% better, I'm hoping for more?
ON a Serious note!!! Why is GAS on the Rise once again....?
Such BS!

08 JK Unlimited here. Auto, 3:73 gears, and stock as they day she was born.
Your Eco numbers sound about right, I can add that on the highway keeping the rpms at 2000K, soft top on loaded for camping with 4 people in the Jeep I can level out at 9 or 10 L/100.

-head wind WILL play a factor
-by far the biggest most important factor, the skinny pedal...go easy and your ok, spend time in the hammer lane @ 120+ KM and your milage will take a tank!

It's a Jeep, slow down enjoy the ride, the slower you go the more time you get to spend in the Jeep.

Ya gas is on the rise, typical for spring/summer....just make some adjustments to your budget and save for Jepp gas, it's what I do, whould have it any other way. Driving the best vehical on earth and pay for the gas or drive a car you ar not happy with...trade offs.

Yes, I've estimated the same savings on the new Pentastar in the 2012....ok, not great....oh in North AMerica would only get the oil burner we'd be doing much better.

Good luck, there's no other ride like it on (or off) road!

Hey Nicker 22,
That's actually quite good. I don't really know why we gaged higher?? Maybe we didn't take it out long enough...plus the one we tested is a demo and they have different guys driving it and probably are not all too careful..?
Anyways, I think we are going to put in an offer today, if all works out I'll have my jeep in the next few days.

:Jeepminded.
Thanks for the reminder, "It's a jeep, slow down and enjoy the ride, the slower you go the more time you get to spend in the jeep."
thanks

you may have had to clear the Litres/100 Klms to get a good gauge on it. I find it really depends on how I drive it. But all in all im happy with mileage and hopefully it gets a little better.

I know my father-in-law is going to ask me about mileage when we drive up to see him next weekend. Honestly, I've never cared about that. I hate the price of gas, but I haven't had this much fun driving since I was a teenager. I've had the vehicle 4 days and I'm loving it. I've actually taken the longer, hillier, rougher way to work just to be in my Jeep longer.

I use to be worried about milage before I got my jeep, coming from a 4 cyl ford escape. But its not as bad as I thought and I absolutly LOVE my jeep! and I haven't even been able to drive with the top down yet. Fricking rain !
