Wrangler Keys
So, love him to death, but hubby has lost the spare key to his, and now MY Jeep. He went to the local Chrysler dealer this week, and ordered a new one for each. OUCH! $300 between the two of them. I've heard when you have 2 keys, you can DIY program a dummy key you can get cheap off ebay. Which, since I know it's inevitable he eventually loses one again, I'd really like to do. Anybody here ever hear of / do this themselves?

Re: Wrangler Keys
How do you program a jeep wrangler transponder key
^Click ^ 60 bucks for the key... 30 for programming.... At least you can save the 30! |
Re: Wrangler Keys
Thx Guys! Actually, it was $120 for the 03 key, and $180 for the 07 key because of keyless entry. We'll definitely be buying a 'dummy' for each, and trying the DIY programming! Will let you know how it turns out! And I like the screwdriver idea, if you mean stuffing it up :retard: hubby's . . . nevermind . . .

Re: Wrangler Keys
Problem is that no one will cut the key for you.

Re: Wrangler Keys
From a security standpoint heres a handy tip. Buy a dummy Jeep key off eBay, fix it to a keyring with a Jeep logo on it then leave it hanging up near your front door. If someone breaks into your house looking for keys to steal your Jeep they'll grab the first Jeep key they see. The Jeep will not be going anywhere though ;)
