Speed sensor and Coolent temp sensor not working. Please help

Hello, This is my first post as I am new to the site. I did a cuple searches but wasent able to come up with anything to anwser my questions.

I picked up my new to me 92 Jeep Grand Cherokee last week for $500 with a leaking rear main seal. After spending the $63 on parts and the 4 hours to replace it I finely got a chance to drive the thing. I noticed 2 main things that are bugging me.

1) The speedometer dosent work. I tryed replaceing it with a known good one and still nothing. checked and cleaned all connections with no changes. i reset the trip odometer and its moved 200m over the 350km I have driven the truck so it is getting a verry slight signel.

2) The Coolent temp isnt working proper. I know I have a cloged heater core as the feed line is hot and the return is cold and it only blown cool air. But the gauge its self only warms up to about the first notch and some times the 2nd notch going up a long eenough hill. Again, checked and cleaned all connections I can see but with no change.

Only codes are 12 (battery recently dissconnected), 15 (no speed/distance signal), and 55 (end of codes).

Any insight on these issues would be great. Thank you in advance!

try swapping out the speed sensor located on the TC over the speedo gear check the gear while you are under there(look for a elect. connector at the rear of TC, driver side) I would suspect the temp sensor or connection after fixing the flow problem at the heater core, also check the thermostat possibly been removed?
