Need Some Help
Hey Guys,
I just got my 2008 4 Dr Wrangler about a month ago, and I am now looking to get some Goodyear MTR tires, BUT my biggest problem is trying to find a plain steel rim for them, and I also need to know if I run a 15" rim, with a 33" tire, and put a 4" lift kit, will I need wheel spacers or will I have enough room when turning? If anyone knows where I can buy a rim and tire combo that would fit my jeep please let me know. Thanks for any help anyone can give me Neil  |
Re: Need Some Help
Hey Niel,
There are a couple of different options for rims, first you can get regular steel "winter" rims or Cragar Soft 8's are popular for off-roading. If your looking for a black rim. Did your Jeep come with 16's or 17's? For 33's on 16's, 285/75-16 is a good choice and will fit with no problems on a JK with a 4" lift. Should'nt have any rubbing issues. Check your stock rim backspacing, I think it's around 6- 6.5". If it is get a rim with about 4-4.5" of backspacing and that will move the tire away from your shocks and coils. You can get rim/ tire combo's at Tirecraft, Kal Tire, OK Tire, online from tirerack.com or even the dreaded Canadian Tire. Dan |

Hey Neil, did you get my pm? Wasn't sure if it went through, having problems with the computer at work.

Re: Need Some Help
I bought my rims from summit racing. $39 each for my xj and since I live in winnipeg I took the free shipping and had them sent to a place just across the border. Went and picked them up and paid the gst at the border and done. For me it was 15 x 8 on 5 by 4 1/2 bolt with 3.75 backspace.
