Thanks.

What exactly are you looking for? Motor job? Tune-up? There is www.national4wd.com in Chateauguay ask for Michel for stuff he sells he will install. Theres PJF 4by4 in Dorion 450 424 0330 ask for Danny another place he will install what he sells.Depending on what your after there are 2 fellows on the south shore one with a garage charges $65 per hour and another does most of the work outside so him I wud have to ask if he can slip you in. Let me know

Mr White. You're a good man despite what others may say about you ;-)

That guy Danny in Dorion is right in my neck of the woods. I'm in Beaconsfield, so he's only a few minutes away. The south shore guys are a little too far off the map for me, but I'll keep them in mind as well.

I'm not looking for anything specific right now. I'm just looking for a competent 4X4 mechanic, prefereably with a degree in Jeep in case I need some major work done. I don't want to deal with the hackers at a local gas station or the incompetent robbers at a stealership when something goes totaly wrong.

And just to set the record straight, I'll admit I'm a newbie and drive a pretty welll stock but very well preserved red and black '98 with a 2.5L and 5 speed I bought very recently. Hard and S-Top. NIce soundbar. No chrome whatsoever. Solid red and black. Nice alloy wheels but the spare is an old OEM steeel piece of crap that's rusting out from under the tire (Jeep wheels anyone? I only need one to complete the set).

Anyways, I really appreciate the leads. Cheers and now I'm gonna go have a brew or two. People are starting to pile in again and my presence is demanded.

Hey guys,

Sort of the same story here, newbie with a jeep on the island looking for a mechanic. Just bought a 2001 Cherokee that needs a bit of work (nothing major). If anyone has a good mechanic for tune-up/regular maintenance in the greater Montreal area (south shore might work too), please let me know.

Cheers,

T.

Re: Montreal Jeep Mechanics

PJF 4X4 treated me well. Routine job but I like to see what a shop does to my Jeep and came away with lots of advice and ideas. A lot more informative and confidence inspiring than going to a stealership or a local garbage.

I'll be going back there as soon as I'm ready for a little RC 2.5" air under my TJ.

They're in Vaudreuil-Dorion, but the price of gas there almost makes the little trip worthwhile in itself, and it's a lot more convenient than the south shore for a west islander like me.

And that reminds me I need to get out there like now for that matching rim for my spare. Danny, if you're reading this, don't go selling that last black Keystone/Cragar rim you guys have in stock. It's mine. I need it, I want it and I am coming to get it very, very soon.
