Jeep issue
I have a 1997 jeep tj 2.5l auto.
While I'm driving and get to 50-60 km/hr the rpms shoot up quite rapidly. Starts at 2500rpm then quickly jumps to about 4000 rpm then back to normal. If I reduced the gas, it's not as bad. However going up a hill it gets worst, can't decide what to do. Please help. |
Re: Jeep issue
Is the jeep surging forward when it does this or just the RPM's jumping?

Re: Jeep issue
just rpm jumping

Re: Jeep issue
When was the last time you had the tranny fluid changed? If it's been awhile I'd start there. If that's not the case I would look at the bands may need to be adjusted or the speed control sensor may be going.
