Educate me on Jeeps
Hey guys, hows it goin?
I might be in the market for a new jeep, however, I dont see many differences between the models.
Can someone inform me on the major differences between the Sport, Sahara, and the rubicon?
I am thinkin about trading in my 2006 Honda Civic Si.
Help me out.
Thanks in advance.
Chris

Sport is the cheapest of the 3..usually with 3.07 (3.73 newer ones) gears, you can upgrade when buying it new.. Sahara is a little more expensive.. 3.73 (4.10 usual gears) with d30 and d35 you might find a d44 on this model someone else will tel you more on this model probably.. the Rubicon.. is the most expensive of the 3.. dana 44 front and rear 4.10 gearings.. supposedly heavier joints lockers front and rear.. if you have the bucks buy the ruby.. its got what most of us Offroaders will be putting on our Sport models. There are the new JK 4 door models, more comfortable than the 2 door but offroading at little longer may cause some problems here and there.. but with a big family the space is nice. Remember it will NEVER get the fuel mileage your honda got... keep in mind it has the air-o-dynamics of a BRICK. fuel mileage between 15-20. Buying a older model Don't buy a 4 cy.. gutless...the 6 cy and 4 cy the difference in mpg isn't noticeable.

Re: Educate me on Jeeps
Thanks for the reply Mr. White, appreciate it.
I am not planning on doing any hardcore offroading. But when I come across some off road terrain, I would like to be able to have some fun with it.
The jeep that caught my eye is a 2008 Jeep Wrangler X 4X4 Sport.
Do we think that for what I need it for, that thats all I would need?

Re: Educate me on Jeeps
I've look at the link, the picture is a Rubicon but not the specs, In 2008 you had either a X or Sport model.
If I was U I would go see it before, they don't talk about the tops, I think it a X model with a CD player but I could be wrong.
Check this out http://www.jeep.ca/en/wrangler/ a 2010 for 20495.00$.

I went an looked at it the other day....it was in the evening though, no one was there. What do you mean by you "think its a X model with a cd player"?
For all I need/want a jeep for, thats all you think I need is the sport? That works for me
Thanks for all your help, I really do appreciate it.

Yo! olliebamino
With the description on the dealer site, It looks like a X model not a sport, that what I meant,
X are the basic, less options
Sport +option
Rubicon Dana 44 front and rear
Sahara painted fender flares

Re: Educate me on Jeeps
Ahhh yes, I gotcha. Well from the pricing on that X model, which is a 2008, and the pricing on a new 2010 Sport model, I think I would be silly not to go brand new, no?
Thanks again
