The HPA motorsport TDI Jeep conversion

http://www.hpamotorsport.com/tdiconversions.htm

My dad showed me this site and Jp did a small write up in their magazine about a month or 2 back, the newsletter i got from them said,

"With many hours invested on the dyno and the highway, we have been steadily optimizing our engine software to balance performance and economy. Once our 1000 mile break in period was completed on the new motor, we proceeded to do a real world highway test. Even with the YJ's larger 33" tires, expedition racks, and MetalCloak body armor working against us at 70-75 mph, we averaged 25 mpg on a 100 mile highway commute. When compared with our 4.0L test vehicle which managed only 13.8 mpg under the same conditions, we pretty impressed. We are still finessing the ECU in hopes to achieve a goal of 28-30 mpg on the highway."

Something to consider for those serious about diesel power.

Crazy but $16,000 just for parts?

that's if you have HPA do the work for you and that's a brand new 1.9l diesel.

Re: The HPA motorsport TDI Jeep conversion

Sorry $10299.00 parts only incl. motor. Still seems like a lot to me. The few people I know with the Cummins 4BT swap payed far less then that and also replacement parts are relatively inexpensive. Coming from the Volkswagen world I would never put a VW motor in my Jeep. HPA does do some really nice stuff though you do get what you pay for. Having used the FT-465 kit in a Mk4 they do make things quite inpressive.
