How "reliable" are Jeeps?
Hey all, I'm new to the forum but would like to open a discussion about reliability when it comes to Jeeps.
From word of mouth you hear jeeps can handle anything, hold their value and last a long time. Consumer report states Jeep is number 30 on the list of reliability. Scion being number 1 followed by Honda.
From members of this forum's experience how reliable are your vehicles? And what particular models do you own?
For myself, I have a 2001 Jeep TJ sport and a 2009 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. Havent owner either long enough to determine reliability. TJ seems to have a new issues though but was purchased second hand.
Whats everyone else's thought's on reliability with these great machine's.

As with any other vehicle out there it depends on how you use it and if you do regular maintenance on it.
Do your oil changes, grease your joints and all that good stuff and it will treat you right.
Also depends if you wheel your Jeep or if it is a daily driver only...... when the pavement ends you can break stuff and things do wear out faster.
I haven't had any issues with my TJ...... had stuff I needed to fix from the past owner but that is part of buying a used Jeep.
