Compass Rally Car.
So i was having a conversation with some friends about tube chassis, when i think tube chassis, i think 2 things, Buggy's and Rally Cars... then i heard someone talk about the compass and then my mind blew up...
Could you imagine taking a tube chassis like all the rally cars, and slapping the compass body panels to it, slap in a Caliber SRT4 turbo 2.4L into it and a rally tuned suspension... It would be the only way id take a compass into the woods lol... I grew up near New Richmond... and have lots of roads perfect for rally on the north shore NB... im almost entertaining the thought of this as a crazy project car... |
Re: Compass Rally Car.
im be honest even that would be a stretch for me and a compass man i hate those things they are so ugly
|
Re: Compass Rally Car.
but just think of tearing thru the woods at 120mph, and hitting jumps and all that good stuff...

To be honest, I think Mike would drive a K car if it would go fast enough HAHAHAHA! |
Re: Compass Rally Car.
give me a roll cage and a 5 point harness, and i'll give you a show! :alcoholic:
im bored, i think it would be fun... im wondering how hard it would be to get a front end collision compass thats been written off because the frame is bent, cut off all the body panels, order new fenders, and slap it to a tube chassis with rally tuned suspension, add a high horsepower turbo charged motor, crazy driver... and GO! the only negative i can see about the compass is that the back is a little bit taller than a car... but still... it would be the only way you could get me into one, and i think it would make for a hell of a ride |
Re: Compass Rally Car.
Time for you to go get a job Mike, you've obviously got way to much time on your hands.
Mind you it probably would be a pretty wild ride. Chrysler might even be able to sell some of those things to other people than yuppies. |
Re: Compass Rally Car.
Your right dan... im loosing my feckin mind down here...
gotta give the office a call friday about a job, get some money together, and heading back north... and hopefully right out west. |
Re: Compass Rally Car.
Next you'll be telling us about your ideas about an SRT Liberty...
|
Re: Compass Rally Car.
ohh now im crazy...but a SRT liberty... well...
HAHA... no really, take a compass shell rollcage plus beefed up SRT4 powerplant from the caliber, add some rally suspension and that would be a hell of a ride... i think its cause i ran into Dave Mirra the other day... and rally is something i've wanted to get into but jeeps are my thing ya know... |

Re: Compass Rally Car.
Now that looks like fun! I've always had a great respect for navigators. Being able to completely trust the loose nut behind the wheel is something I've never been able to do.

Re: Compass Rally Car.
Compass and Patriot are both initially based around the Mitsubishi GS platform.... it could happen.
