Compass Fuel Issue

Hi All
1st time poster and hoping for some advice. Heres the problem. I have a 2008 Compass Limited 2.4 l engine. This is about filling. Since I bought this vehicle in 2008 I have been stuggling with filling issues. I never can seem to be able to fill the compass up fully(seeing gas in filler hose). Now I've been told by dealers that when pump shuts off its full. I don't believe it cause only 1 time I've been able to fill completely full(seeing gas in filler hose, could not put another penny in). At that time got tremendous gas mileage. When its not completly full go 200 km burn 1/2 tank apparently. Have been told by car guys its a simple fix, most likely the hose that allows air to escape when filling could be plugged, could be a float issue inside tank, sensor, but most likely hose or canister. Dealer wants to do fuel effiecncy test. The 1 time got amazing fuel economy. Anyone had this issue and could shed some light on subject. I'd be greatful as would my wallet...lol. Thanks in advance

Cheers

Re: Compass Fuel Issue

Sorry...can't help you...but if it makes you feel better, right now I can't fill 'er up completely or fuel leaks out of the top of my tank...one of these days I'll have to drop it and see where the leak is coming from, just been to lazy to do that so far...

How much does your dealer want for this test? Is this a warranty issue? Sounds to me like it should be a free shop visit...(and you should be provided with a loaner vehicle until the problem is solved, but that's just my opinion...)

Re: Compass Fuel Issue

They just want ME to pay for the fuel they use. No loaner offered. Its defineatly a warranty issue. Only 13,5000 kms on it. I'll do the fill up, keep track of how many l I use then next week it goes in and it doesn't come home till they fix it. Enough is enough. Thanks for your reply.

Cheers
