Bigger Tires

Okay do ya have to change the gearing to run,say 33s.Or can current gearing handle it,from 99 to 06 say?

Re: Bigger Tires

What type of Jeep and what gearing do you have right now? Engine size is good to know to.

You need to include more specific info in your questions so someone can give you a proper/ correct answer.

Re: Bigger Tires

I did get it, that's why I pointed out that if you want info you need to provide a bit more info of what exactly you want to know so we can answer properly. Wasn't trying to brush you off, just don't want to tell you something that's wrong.

Re: Bigger Tires

ok 2010 Wrangler Unlimited 3.8 V6 auto 3.73 with 255/75/18 what would I have to do to put 305 65 18's on it?

04WJGuy 08-02-2010 05:06 PM

Re: Bigger Tires

A 1-2" body lift would probably be all you need to run the 305's, you may get some rubbing on the inside since the tires are wider. Spacers or new rims with different backspacing would take care of that problem though.

Re: Bigger Tires

On the 'spacer' thing, what do you guy's think of them?

04WJGuy 08-03-2010 02:01 AM

Re: Bigger Tires

I've been using them on my WJ for almost 4 years now and haven't had any problems with them.
You do have to install them as per instructions and remember to check the torque when you rotate your tires. But that's just my opinion.

I'm running 33x12.5r15 right now, these rims have a 3.75 backspaceing and don't rub anywhere, I have had 285x75r16s with stock JK steel and 1.5 spacers, you will need to lift though, I am useing a 2.5 BB and all is good.
