T Max Winch Issiues

I have a T max EWI 10000 that was on the Jeep when i bought it.Had about 20 feet of cable wrapped around the stinger when bought.i pulled out the cable that was wound wrong got it all wound up right(last fall).Seemed to work fine.replaced the homemade "bumper/ winch plate"with a proper setup last weekend.could not get winch to do anything.Took control apart and found a battery and circuit board???Replaced the small 12 V batt.still nothing.seems its wireless, with a wire!also had anther control with smaller plug.cut the end off and tapped into sol.pack wires.winch went out while pressing in.proper control plugged in and idle.unplug and jerry rigged control did nothing.switched blue and yellow it went in when other one plugged back in.Any thoughts??Im leaning toward bad switch in both controls, but jumping terminals on switch with a screwdriver did nothing??

Did that ever leave me confused. As the winch will go in and out under certain conditions, we will assume for the moment that the problem is in the control or its wiring. Lets try to simplify this by a one question at a time diagnosis, First, how many wires go to the control?

sorry to confuse, both controls have 3 wires to switch, red to center term.,blue and yellow.both are t max.

Ok, lets look at the winch first. The three wires that go to the winch, one is the common wire, one wire is IN and the other is OUT. I don't have the diagrams for the t-max but typically the common wire should have 12v on it. You can figure out which one it is by either using a tester or with a bulb with a couple of wires on. When you have found out which is the common wire try touching either of the other wires to it and observe if the winch goes in or out. Remember what each wire does, post what happens and we'll go from there,
Sorry if this seems like a long winded approach but it's one of those things that can be diagnosed ,hands on, in a matter of minutes but remotely you have to eliminate all possible areas,

The red is hot(center of switch)The fact i can make it go in and out by switching the blue and yellow around i would think the soloniod is good. What confuses me is the jerry rigged will do nothing until i plug in the orig.control(There is a wireless "module" under the cover as well,i should have taken pics. This is what i have http://www.t-maxwinches.com.au/docum...0000CRwire.pdf

Re: T Max Winch Issiues

It looks like the problem is in either the module or the control, however, I'll try to find out some more information but it might take some time,

Found these diagrams online,

I've not had much time to analize them, but you might find them useful in the meantime,

Heres A couple pics, last pic is what i did to use spare control with out taking cover off so at least it is useable if needed.got spare control to work in both directions,(2 wires were reversed)but as stated before orig.control must be plugged in:confused:Looking at diagram that old fart posted there are 2 wires that seem may act as on/off switch?
