Default Radio Stations Cut Out

i have a 2013 jeep wrangler unlimited sport and every once and while when listening to the radio it quits working. the cd player works fine just the radio stations tend to cut out every once and while, its the stock stereo
can it just be the antenna plugin wearing out?

could be the antenna or the radio, Only way I can think of to diagnose the problem would be to plug in a temporary antenna and see if it solves the problem

I had the same issue with my 2013 JK then the radio quit for good.

Here's the fix. I did it and it worked for me.

Youtube the video on how to take out the dash first, the jeep in the one above isn't a wrangler.

I hope this helps.

I used a heat gun from Canadian Tire. Wait for it to go on sale and you will probably get it at half price, or you could ask around at work and among people you know and borrow one for free.

That being said, you will need to modify the nozzle to concentrate the eat on to the chip. Tinfoil will do.
