2014 jeep Sahara Aftermarket DLR question
I had a custom bumper installed on my 2014 jeep Sahara but there is no place to install the factory DRL's. The wires are still there and I am thinking about getting some aftermarket DRL's. My question is would it cause any harm if I just snipped off the factory connectors and wired the lights? Should I use a inline fuse or will it be fine as the wires are already set up for DRL's?

Re: 2014 jeep Sahara Aftermarket DLR question
The circuit is already protected with in-line fuses rated for the 55 watt output of the lights ,so as long as you don't exceed this rating u should b good 2 go. If u snip the connectors off, I would solder the joints as well as heat shrink them to keep any moisture out.

Re: 2014 jeep Sahara Aftermarket DLR question
Most aftermarket lights will be more than 55W so the current draw will be higher. With that being said you can install a relay and use the stock wiring to power the relay coil to control the lights. Then you can size the fuse and wiring for the lights according to current draw.
