Canada 2006 Jeep Cherokee DVD headphones

Hi Folks
I just bought my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the headset didn't come with the DVD entertainment system. Is it Ok just to snap a set up on Ebay (They seem to be about 70 CDN) Any problems I don't know about?

Thanks in advance

Don't know about the factory unit but if the socket was the same as the ones on an mp3 player I would just plug them in and see what happens.

Hey Old Fart, thanks. These headphones are of the wireless variety, trust me I wandered around the truck a few times with an 1/8" jack buds wondering were the hell do these plug in. Then I picked up the manual and realized it was wireless.
From what I'm reading they come pre-programmed to sync up to the DVD head unit

I consider myself educated in that area then, thank you for clarifying that. Wonder what frequency it works on?

did a bit more research and earlier ones used rf while the later ones used ir , yours should be ir but don't take just my word for it.

Well I guess I need to fire up the ebay for a little online trading. Not like it's a big expensive or anything.
Thanks

FullMetalCardigan,

Congrats on your Jeep!
It may be wise to check in with the Parts dept. at your local Jeep store just to check part numbers before you buy anything online.
The compatibility may have changed over the years and may not be inter-compatible.

P.S. awesome user name !!!

Thanks Wes. I was thinking the same thing. Never hurts to ask questions at the parts counter.
So far after owning a million GM vehicles in 30 years I'm impressed. Luckily for me the previous owner cared for for like I would have.
