Willys 12v back to 24v

I have aquired a 53 m38A1 with a 67 daunless 225 in it and am trying to convert it back to 24v system. Do they make starters altenators etc for the 225 that run off a 24v system or is there a converter I will need? I have 0 lights installed and no wires either so prior running lights and guages I want to make sure I have the correct "base". TYIA to any and all responses

Re: Willys 12v back to 24v

I have a friend that is into these older jeeps, in fact hes got one so I contacted him with ur question this is his reply:
That is not the original engine. if it was the f head all the 24v parts are available. However... The starter could be rewound for 24v and voltage regulator could be swapped out for a 24v one. the coil would have to be changed too all the gauges and lights would need to be swapped as well. It would be way easier and cheaper to stay 12v

He suggest you join http://www.willysmjeeps.com there are a bunch of guys who have tackled this before.

TY Mr White. After alot of research I have come to the conclusion sticking with the 12v is the easier more efficient route to take.
