Jeep Wrangler : Bad wobble/vibration
I have a 95 wrangler. At speeds of 60-65 it is fine until I hit a bump. It then vibrates terribly. It will not stop until I slow down considerally. It will be fine again until I hit another bump. Could the damper be the problem?

Re: Jeep Wrangler : Bad wobble/vibration
Possible the damper is gone, but oddly enuff, once I put 31's on my trail hog, it went crazy on railroad tracks. Scared the crap out of me first time, and needed to change my Hanes. Turned out the air pressure was too low, and thats al it was. I can't see what you are dealing with, but it is possible. Pull the damper off one side, and operate it manually. the resistance should be relatively the same all the way through it's travel. Also check the track bar, and shocks. Worn shocks can cause wicked wheel hop, on larger tires.
Hope this helps. |
