Default 4.0L in a Jk

Just curious if anyone has seriously looked into or even completed this conversion and if it would actually be worth it. I have confirmed my 3.6L is toast and I hesitate putting another in as they obviously don't have any longevity and the 4.0L is a proven strong motor. I'm just exploring options right now and don't have the 25000 to do the hemi or Ls. Any info would be great I will continue to scower the net aswell.

Not worth the trouble getting the electronics to talk to the 4.0 is a huge issue.. Less power in the 4.0 then the 3.8 or 3.6..The alternatives are the Hemi swap or GM LS swap.. Both are not cheap and require the transmission change as well as engine.. Replacing the 3.6 is still the cheapest option..
