97 no start

Default 97 no start

I have a 97 xj 4.0 engine cranks will not start I replaced the cps still no start also noticed that none of the gauges are working checked all the fuses any help would be appreciated.

I did another code read now get code 1694. I am now thinking I need to replace the pcm,

Just guessing here but open up the pcm and check for corrosion, poor solder joints and perhaps a blown condensor.

took a look at the pcm pins all look good no corrosion have been checking all the grounds I need to invest in an ohm meter to check things out more in depth.

I had a similar issue...ended up being a weak spark. New coil pack and she runs great now!
