Default Protect your engine bay from corrosion

Autoglym knows that engine corrosion can be worry amongst motoring enthusiasts. Overtime as your engine’s metal parts are exposed to moisture, air, humidity and salt they can begin to oxidize, which creates corrosion and rust.

Autoglym has two products that help prevent corrosion from forming in the engine bay – Autoglym Engine & Machine Cleaner and Autoglym Vinyl Rubber & Care.

During winter, local councils use salt to remove ice and snow, and while the salt helps get roads back to a driveable condition the salty residue can find its way into your engine bay and can start to eat away your engine’s components.

Autoglym's easy-to-use Engine & Machine Cleaner spray is a powerful, water-based, biodegradable degreaser, which can remove harmful build-up as well as rapidly dissolves oil, grease and grime from engine resulting in a spotless engine bay.

It’s a simple spray on, brush and hose off cleaner for all metal, plastic or rubber engine components and surrounding paintwork.

Before you begin it is important to cover electrical components, such as the battery, to avoid damage. It’s also important to make sure you’re operating in a safe environment. After removing leaves and twigs simply spray the cleaner onto a cold engine and agitate with a brush or cloth to loosen any tough dirt or grime from the engine.

Once the engine and components are fully clean, rinse the product away with a low-pressure hose and watch the engine bay transform.

To complete the look, spray the wet engine with Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care, close the bonnet and allow the product to dry. This will restore the original colour and provide a clear protective coating to ensure engine components remain clean and protected.
